Volunteer Requirements for Working with Children and Vulnerable Adults

Any adult (18 and older) wanting to volunteer with minors and vulnerable adults must fulfill the following requirements mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Diocese of Baton Rouge.



• Complete the CAPS application
• Complete a background check (and fingerprinting in the case of schools)
• Complete the Serving Vulnerable Populations and the Diocesan Code of Ethics training module for adults
• Have their name screened through the CAPS database for a pre-existing organizational status check
• Provide a copy of a government-issued I.D.
